Nassau County Courthouse also known as Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building is the restoration of a historical building. Theodore Roosevelt was Nassau County's most famous citizen, 102 years ago when this building was built, Theodore Roosevelt helped lay the corner stone.
For many years partitions and drop ceilings covered the ornamental plaster in this building, but when Bovis started demolition on this job by removing the walls and ceilings they found the original architectural detail of this building. Sessa plastering (Sygma Sunrise) was awarded the job to restore the courthouse to its original state. Once we started working we noticed that the plaster was in worse shape than we thought, but after a lot of hard work and imagination we restored the Nassau County Courthouse to its original beauty using the same materials and techniques that were used in the early 1900's when this building was built. |
